🥘 Mississippi Pot Roast (Dutch Oven Version)

🧂 Ingredients

  • 3–4 lb chuck roast
  • 1 packet ranch seasoning mix
  • 1 packet au jus gravy mix
  • 5–6 pepperoncini peppers
  • ½ cup pepperoncini juice
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • Optional: 1 tbsp garlic (minced)
  • Optional: carrots & potatoes for a full meal

👨🍳 Instructions

1. Preheat & Sear

  • Preheat Dutch oven over medium-high heat
  • Add a little oil
  • Sear roast 3–4 minutes per side until browned

👉 This step builds deep flavor (don’t skip)

2. Build the flavor

Turn heat to low and add:

  • Ranch seasoning
  • Au jus mix
  • Garlic (optional)
  • Pepperoncini + juice

Place butter on top of roast

3. Cover & Cook (Low and Slow)

  • Cover with your high dome lid
  • Cook at 275°F (oven) for 3.5–4 hours

👉 Roast should be fall-apart tender

4. Optional add-ins

At the halfway point:

  • Add potatoes & carrots around the roast

5. Finish

  • Shred meat directly in the pot
  • Spoon juices over top
