EKCO Arrowhead BUTCHER SANTOKU KNIFE - Handmade USA in the USA From Chef Charles Knight's Personal Collection Butcher Santoku Knife with Black Sablewood Handle – 7½-inch Blade - Straightedge 13½-inches overall length.
The handles of our Vintage Arrowhead Cutlery are infused with nanoparticles of gold. Our research has revealed a unique connection between the gold-rich soil where Norwegian Birch veneers grow and the incorporation of gold into the handles. It is fascinating to learn that these trees have metabolically absorbed gold, showcasing nature's remarkable ability to provide unexpected treasures.
As pioneers in the cutlery industry, Arrowhead understood the importance of using the finest materials to craft the best tools for your kitchen. Arrowhead cutlery set a new standard with cryogenically forged stainless steel blades, ensuring unparalleled durability and sharpness. Knives meticulously handmade to provide the ultimate cutting experience.
Our legacy of excellence dates back to the 1960s when Arrowhead cutlery, a pioneering creation by EKCO Home Products, revolutionized the direct sales market. Renowned for its exceptional quality and distinctive features, Arrowhead cutlery swiftly rose to prominence as the most sought-after collection of cutleries worldwide.
In the mid-70s Ekco Home Products, made the strategic decision to exit the direct sales business. In response to this shift, Ron Franklin, the largest distributor of EHP's product line, took the reins and steered the business forward. Under Franklin's leadership, the company thrived until 1997 when a significant turning point occurred. The product line was acquired by Chef Charles Knight, a prominent figure in the realm of TV cooking shows and cookbook author based in Tampa, Florida.
Arrowhead Cutlery faced significant challenges in 2007 as a result of a downturn in the economy, federal restrictions on exotic wood imports, scarcity of skilled labor, and heightened competition from overseas manufacturers producing low-quality knives. We made the difficult decision to close our manufacturing facility in Buffalo, New York, and halt production indefinitely.
When we acquired Arrowhead Cutlery in 1997, we were fortunate to obtain a treasure trove of museum-quality original prototype knives. Crafted by the skilled hands of the original artisan who journeyed from Solingen Germany to the U.S. in the 1950s, these knives showcase unparalleled craftsmanship and collector quality.
Each knife in this exclusive collection tells a story of heritage and dedication to the art of knife-making. Handmade in the original factory in Milwaukee, WI, these knives are a testament to a bygone era of meticulous craftsmanship and attention to detail. The hand-made wooden cases that accompany these knives are equally exquisite, adding a touch of elegance to their presentation.
We invite you to explore this rare collection of vintage Arrowhead Cutlery knives and wooden cases now available for sale. Immerse yourself in the rich history and superior quality that these knives embody, and experience firsthand the legacy of excellence.

TEN WAYS BETTER THAN CONVENTIONAL CUTLERY
- Hand Made Sablewood Handles... crafted of beautiful Norwegian hardwood veneers impregnated with resins under tremendous heat and pressure... duplicating what Mother Nature takes millions of years to accomplish in petrified wood. Hard and durable enough to resist burning stains and chip.
- Perma-Keen Cutting Edges... our serrated knives provide 30% more cutting surface than traditional serrated knives. Tips take abuse and crescents do the cutting for lasting sharpness. The only serrated knife that can be re-sharpened by the customer.
- Sculptured Handles... have fine grips carved for safer handling, firmer knife control, an extra safety factor for wet or slippery hands.
- Full Tang Construction... an extra quality safety feature that assures extra strength, perfect balance, and longer life. The tang extends the full length and width of the handle.
- New Heavier Gauge Blades... the kind used by professional chefs who demand the finest cutting blades.
- 425M Chromium Stainless Steel Blades... blends of the finest Hi-Carbon Steel, Chromium, Magnesium, Molybdenum and Vanadium create blades that stay sharp, and resist rusting, tarnishing, and staining.
- Hollow Ground Blades... for keen precision cutting, both sides of the cutting blade are sharpened toward the edge... then the blade is beveled sharply to the cutting area.
- Elegant Storage Holsters & Blocks... keep your knives in place on the wall, drawer, countertop, or tabletop, or in handcrafted leather storage holsters. Attractive, contemporary blocks and holsters compliment the finest cutlery manufactured.
- Saber Ground Blades... the entire grind is beveled sharply to the cutting edge for heavy-duty cutting tasks.
- High Compression Rivets... of nickel/chrome join the blade firmly to the SABLEWOOD layered handles and are guaranteed never to pull apart.
